This combination passenger-cargo liner operated an Around-the-World route from Aug 1946 to Dec 1965, although Port Everglades was not added until the early 1960s. Interport sailings were also available. The President Polk had a high standard of accommodations, with all outside staterooms, well-appointed lounge with a bar, library, outdoor pool and intimate dining salon.
